Ameriprise Financial Plans Live Audio Web Access to First Roadshow Meeting

Ameriprise Financial said today that it plans to host asell-side analyst meeting on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 2:00 p.m.(ET). At the meeting, James Cracchiolo, chairman and chief executiveofficer, Walter Berman, chief financial officer, Brian Heath,president, U.S. Advisor Group, Ted Truscott, president, U.S. AssetManagement and Chief Investment Officer, Mark Schwarzmann, president,Insurance, Annuities & Product Distribution, and Joe Sweeney,president, Financial Planning, Products and Services, will discuss thecompany's business and strategy as it prepares to spin-off fromAmerican Express Company (NYSE:AXP).

The spin-off of Ameriprise Financial, Inc., formerly known asAmerican Express Financial Corporation, is expected to be completed onSeptember 30, 2005. Upon completion of the spin-off, AmeripriseFinancial will be an independent, public company and will trade on theNew York Stock Exchange under the symbol AMP.
