Reports: Amazon To Unveil Smartphone Wednesday, AT&T Exclusive Carrier

(RTTNews) - Amazon will unveil its highly anticipated smartphone at a press event Wednesday in Seattle, according to multiple reports.

Tech bloggers expect the device will incorporate 3D technology and a new form of gesture control and navigation.

AT&T Inc. will be the exclusive carrier for Amazon phone, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the plans.

Amazon's phone will not require 3D glasses to view images.

According to PC Advisor, the Amazon phone has "front-facing cameras placed at each corner of the screen. These will track your eyes to monitor exactly where they're looking and adjust the image on-screen to provide a 3D experience without the need for any special glasses."

The June release will give the Amazon device time to gain market traction before the expected early fall release of Apple's latest iPhone.
