Report: Tesla Plans New Hires
(RTTNews) - Tesla Motor Inc. is reportedly hiring software engineers for an autonomous car programme. The company is looking for hundred engineers initially, however in the long run the company will require thousands of people with diverse skills for its auto and battery industries.
According to WSJ, Tesla may require more than 4500 employees in California in next four years. Currently, the company has 14,000 employees and more than 1600 vacancies are open to be filled at its Autopilot car project.
In a tweet, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said he will interview candidates directly and no prior experience with cars is required.
In the future, the company has plans to move its headquarters from Palo Alto to some other location in California.
Tesla has ambitious plans to sell more than 50,000 cars for the next year. It has raised the production of its luxury electric vehicle brands Model S sedan and Model X. The company is planning to reduce the current waiting periods of 8-12 months for its Model X car.
