(RTTNews) - Palo Alto Networks, Inc. (PANW) on Monday reported second-quarter net loss attributable to common stockholders that widened to $39.95 million or $0.55 per share from $2.61 million or $0.04 per share in the same period last year.

Excluding items such as share-based compensation expense, share-based payroll tax expense and acquisition-related costs, among others, adjusted net income for the quarter was $7.77 million or $0.10 per share, compared to adjusted net income of $4.12 million or $0.05 per share in the year-ago period.

On average, 25 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.09 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues for the quarter grew 46 percent to $141.07 million from $96.50 million in the same period last year. Analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $135.63 million.
