NRG Energy Plans $1 Bln Senior Notes Offering
(RTTNews) - NRG Energy, Inc. (NRG) said Friday that it plans to commence an offering of $1.0 billion in aggregate principal amount of senior notes due 2024.
The company said it plans to use the proceeds from the offering, together with cash on hand, to repurchase any and all of the $298,548,000 in aggregate principal amount of its outstanding 8.50% senior notes due 2019 and $708,522,000 in aggregate principal amount of its outstanding 7.625% senior notes due 2019 and to pay fees and expenses related to the offering of the new notes and incurred in connection with the repurchase of the 2019 Notes.
