Lawrence Goodman Named Head of Global Emerging Market FX

NEW YORK, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Bank of America today announced that Lawrence Goodman has joined the firm as Managing Director and Head of Global Emerging Market Foreign Exchange (FX) Strategy. In this role, he will lead the Bank's emerging markets strategy effort globally, including macroeconomic and currency analysis. Based in New York, Mr. Goodman reports to Robert Sinche, Managing Director and Head of Global Foreign Exchange Strategy.

Prior to joining Bank of America, Mr. Goodman served for two years as Director & Senior Fellow of the Office of Quantitative Policy Analysis at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He advised the Under Secretary and Assistant Secretary of International Affairs on a wide range of economic and financial issues regarding the global economy, crisis prevention, and vulnerabilities. Prior to Treasury, Mr. Goodman was a Wall Street economist ranked by Institutional Investor Magazine for Latin America economics and Global Investor for Emerging Markets debt research.

Mr. Goodman holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, and has completed courses toward a Ph.D. in economics at The New School.

The Bank also announced it has recently hired four additional currency strategists. Sinche noted, "The addition of these talented individuals helps build out our FX strategy platform and enables us to continue to provide our expanding client base with the world class FX insight and strategy they have come to expect from Bank of America."

Kamal Sharma has joined as a Currency Strategist in London covering G10 currencies with a specific focus on the UK, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. He joins from Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, where he was an FX Strategist, and reports to Bob Sinche. Kamal holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Warwick and a BA in Economics from the University of Manchester.

Christy Tan and Yeo Han Sia have joined the Bank in Singapore as Currency Strategists responsible for covering Southeast Asian markets, providing macro- economic, policy and currency analysis and forecasting for Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand and India. They report jointly to Chee-Pin Lee, Managing Director, Global FX in Singapore, and Larry Goodman. Prior to joining Bank of America, Ms. Tan was with Forecast Pte Ltd., where she was a Regional Markets Strategist. She holds a BS in Economics from the National University of Singapore.

Mr. Yeo joins from the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry, where he was an economist. He holds a Masters of Science in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor of Business in Applied Economics from Nanyang Technical University in Singapore.

Steve Wang has joined as Currency Strategist in Hong Kong, providing analytical support to the Asian strategy team, and reports to Larry Goodman. Previously, he was with Newton Power, a Hong Kong-based electronics research and development firm and a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Electronics Group of Taiwan. He holds a dual degree from The University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics from Wharton School of Business and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science.
