Google CEO Warns Employees To Stay Nonpartisan Or Face Actions

(RTTNews) - Alphabet's Google Chief Executive Sundar Pichai said the idea that Google alters search results to favor a political agenda is "absolutely false." He also said employees will be held accountable.

"We do not bias our products to favor any political agenda. The trust our users place in us is our greatest asset and we must always protect it. If any Googler ever undermines that trust, we will hold them accountable," Sundar Pichai said.

In a staff memo, Pichai told employees, known as "Googlers," that the company has strict policies against letting political views influence the products they create.

Pichai's note comes a day after a report in the wall Street Journal said Google employees discussed changes to the company's web search functions to counter the Trump administration's controversial travel ban that went into effect last year.
