General Dynamics Board of Directors Elects John C. Ulrich as Vice President of the Corporation

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The board of directors of General Dynamics yesterday elected John C. Ulrich, 52, a vice president of the corporation. In accordance with a previously announced plan, Ulrich has become president of the General Dynamics European Land Combat Systems business unit, reporting to Charles M. Hall, executive vice president and group executive for General Dynamics' Combat Systems business group. Ulrich succeeds H. Michael Malzacher, who is retiring.

Ulrich was appointed senior vice president and deputy director of General Dynamics European Land Combat Systems in June. Previously he had been senior vice president of General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada, where he was responsible for the international wheeled vehicles business, which included General Dynamics Land Systems-Australia. Ulrich has more than 29 years of experience in the defense and international markets. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

General Dynamics European Land Combat Systems, based in Vienna, Austria, is composed of the three European land combat systems companies owned by General Dynamics: MOWAG GmbH, of Kreuzlingen, Switzerland; General Dynamics Santa Barbara Sistemas, of Madrid, Spain; and Steyr-Daimler-Puch Spezialfahrzeug GmbH, based in Vienna, Austria.
