freenet AG and Capita enter strategic partnership for the development of customer service towards customer excellence and digitalisation - Seven-year contract signed with Capita for taking over business processes in customer service

- Transfer of around 650 customer service inhouse employees from mobilcom-debitel GmbH to Capita

Büdelsdorf, 21 November 2016 - mobilcom-debitel GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of freenet AG [ISIN DE000A0Z2ZZ5], today signed a contract with Capita Customer Services (Germany) GmbH, Berlin, for taking over the customer service business processes of mobilcom-debitel GmbH. Capita is one of the leading European outsourcing providers for customer management and digitalisation with 75,000 employees at 500 locations worldwide. The strategic partnership which will run for seven years is intended to promote the customer-oriented digitalisation of mobilcom-debitel's customer care processes. From 1 March 2017, Capita will be responsible for comprehensive customer services of mobilcom-debitel GmbH, including the related IT infrastructure and take over around 650 inhouse employees from customer service as well as the site in Erfurt. The existing individual labour contracts of the employees concerned will continue to exist with comparable conditions. The transaction is subject to the customary regulatory approvals.

"By means of Capita's international expertise we intend to become more flexible and independent in an increasingly digitalised world. In the foreground we do not focus on cost savings but on strengthening our customer service positioning in order to meet future customer needs more directly", explains Joachim Preisig, Chief Financial Officer of freenet AG. "Moreover, the aim of the agreement with Capita is to enhance our digital lifestyle strategy in customer service. Among other things, we will therefore focus on the expansion of digital channels to consistently develop the customer service of mobilcom-debitel GmbH towards customer excellence", adds Birgit Geffke, Head of Customer Care at mobilcom-debitel GmbH.
