Dell Products and Services Give Rooms to Go Room to Grow; America's Largest Furniture Store Standardizes on Dell Technology

Rooms To Go, the nation's largest furniture store(1),has invested $1.4 million to standardize on Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) retailhardware and services to help manage growth at its more than 100stores.

Now celebrating its 15th anniversary, the Tampa, Fla.-basedcompany continues to see burgeoning sales, with more than 4,000 roomsof furniture delivered daily. To keep sales rolling in, Rooms To Goinstalled more than 1,200 Dell OptiPlex(TM) SX280 desktop computerswith all-in-one 17-inch LCD flat touchscreen monitors used aspoint-of-sale (POS) registers.

Rooms To Go also purchased 700 Dell 1700n laser printers, whichdeliver fast, networked printing in a compact design and allow salesassociates to quickly print product information to share withcustomers. The addition of a second paper tray for each printer allowsRooms To Go to use a custom sales form for sales receipts and a largecapacity tray for product information. The POS systems includesignature capture, card readers, sales terminals and 17-inch flatpanel monitors and a shared laser printer. The sleek, compact systemsfit well in the company's room-by-room showcase environment and arepositioned throughout the store to ease the buying process.

"We needed computers with the ability to run our in-house softwareand a sleek appearance to match the furniture in our showrooms. Dellsystems are reliable, which means our customers won't experienceunnecessary wait time when making a purchase, enhancing the overallRooms To Go experience," said Rick Brown, Rooms To Go project manager.

Dell provided Rooms To Go with deployment services includingcustom factory integration (CFI), having the Rooms To Go corporateimage integrated in its systems as they were built. Dell also providedasset-tagging and project management services to help reduce error andensure that each system was ready to plug-in and power-up uponarrival.
