AT&T Announces New Contract with Oakland Community College; Services Will Connect Multiple Campuses in Oakland County, Michigan

Under terms of the three-year contract, AT&T Michigan will provideOpt-E-MAN(R), a public switched Ethernet solution that will connectthe college's five campuses by linking each location's local areanetwork (LAN).

The high-bandwidth networking solution will securely support OCC'sdata transmission for an optimized application infrastructure andimproved communications across its campuses, which are locatedthroughout metropolitan Detroit's northern suburbs. OCC will have theability to instantaneously share data and access bandwidth-intensiveapplications through this cost-effective optical solution. AT&T willalso provide toll-free, local and long distance voice services to allof OCC's campuses.

"We needed a quick and more cost-effective way to handle thegrowing data flow across our locations," said Clarence E. Brantley,vice chancellor of administrative services for Oakland CommunityCollege.
