Portuguese Consumer Sentiment Rises To Three-Year High
(RTTNews) - Portugal's consumer confidence increased notably in November to the highest level in more than three years, data released by National Statistics Institute revealed Thursday.
The consumer confidence index moved up to -41.8 in November from -42.8 in October. The November score was the highest since October 2010.
The economic confidence index came in at -1.2 in November, which was slightly higher than -1.3 recorded in October. At the same time, the indicator of confidence in the manufacturing sector moved up to -11.9 in November from -12.9 a month earlier.
Portuguese construction firms were slightly more upbeat about their businesses during the month, with the relevant sub-indicator rising to -50 from -51.7 in October. The sub-indicators for the retail sector and service sector also showed improvement in sentiment, data showed.
