Malaysia's Producer Prices Rise 3.3% In November

(RTTNews) - Malaysia's producer prices increased in November from last year, data released by the Department of Statistics revealed Tuesday.

The producer price index for locally manufactured goods grew 3.3 percent in November from the same month of last year.

Producer prices in the mining sector climbed 14.7 percent annually, and manufacturing prices edged up 0.7 percent. Output prices of electricity, gas and water were higher by 1.2 percent than in November 2012, data showed.

Overall output prices, which comprises the indexes of local production, imports and domestic economy, rose 2.1 percent annually during the month.

On a monthly basis, output prices moved up 0.6 percent in November. At the same time, overall producer prices increased 0.5 percent sequentially.

The statistical office further noted that Malaysia's import price index decreased 0.5 percent year-on-year in November. Compared to October, import prices edged up 0.1 percent.
