Moody's: US life insurers vulnerable to protracted low interest rates
New York, December 18, 2012 -- US life insurers will be vulnerable to the impact of continued low interest rates on earnings, says Moody's Investors Service in its new special comment "Interest Rates Low, Low, Low: Are US Life Insurers Concerned Enough?" Interest rates in the US remain at historically low levels, with the 10-year US Treasury note failing to break 2% in over six months.
