Diageo PLC -- Moody's: Slowing emerging market growth credit negative for European beverage producers
Paris, March 31, 2014 -- According to Moody's Investors Service, the emerging market slowdown and higher currency volatility will slow European beverage producers' sales growth in 2014. However, the rating agency still expects that margins will improve on average, albeit at a slower pace. Emerging markets will continue to drive growth for beverage companies as a result of their younger populations and growing disposable incomes, while Moody's expects that consumption will remain subdued in Europe.
