Willis Group Q3 Results Miss Estimates

(RTTNews) - Willis Group Holdings plc (WSH) reported a net loss for the third quarter of $7 million or $0.04 per share, compared to a loss of $27 million or $0.15 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, Underlying EPS for the third quarter was $0.14, compared to $0.19 in the third quarter of 2013.

Total revenues for the third quarter rose 2.1% to $812 million from $795 million in the third quarter of 2013. Total underlying revenues, which exclude $3 million of unfavorable foreign currency movements, increased 2.5% over the prior year quarter.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.17 per share on revenue of $835.50 million for the third quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
