Westell Technologies Adds New Vice President of Engineering

    AURORA, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 24, 2005--Westell Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:WSTL), a leading provider of broadband/DSL access products, gateways and conferencing services, announced the appointment of Chris Shaver as Vice President of Engineering. The appointment is effective today.
    Along with Paul Harrington, Vice President of Development for Westell, Shaver will contribute to the development capabilities and engineering discipline within Westell supporting its growing product lines. He will have responsibility for Westell's Verizon One(TM) development activities as well as expanding the system engineering and system integration and verification functions for all products. Both gentlemen will report to Bill Noll, Sr. VP of Engineering and CTO.
    Shaver is the former Vice President of Engineering for Copper Mountain Networks, San Diego, CA. His career includes engineering positions with AT&E Laboratories and ADC Kentrox as well as serving as co-founder of a company that successfully launched a next generation carrier class ATM switch for voice and data. While at ADC Kentrox, Shaver held the position of General Manager of the Enterprise Access Division. Shaver earned an Electrical Engineering Degree from Cornell University.
