Walt Disney World Ticket Prices To Vary By Date

(RTTNews) - Walt Disney World is introducing a new ticket pricing system in order to better distribute attendance at its theme parks throughout the year. The company plans to begin pricing tickets for its theme parks based on dates so as to reflect the expected demand on specific days.

Disney said Monday that beginning October 16, guests will be able to access its new online vacation-booking portal and purchase tickets priced by the date of visit.

"As our parks have increased in popularity, there are more and more guests who wish to experience our world-class attractions. Introducing date-based tickets and pricing will allow us to better distribute attendance throughout the year so that we can continue to improve and deliver a great experience," Disney said.

The changes resemble the pricing of tickets by airline and hotels, but will not fluctuate once the prices are initially set by Disney.

On buying tickets online, travelers can access an interactive calendar that will display different prices based on the dates they choose to visit.

The interactive calendar will also allow guests to quickly see the lowest-priced days within a month. For example, prices may be lower during off-peak travel periods.

When guests visit the website, they will select the first day of their planned trip to a theme park, then set the daily rate based on the number of days they plan to visit. The per-day rate will decrease as the length of the visit increases.

Once tickets are purchased, guests will be able to continue to plan their vacation on the website through "My Disney Experience," which guides guests through the different phases and steps of personalizing their vacation.

The new online vacation-booking portal also features park offering overviews, travel tips and customized suggestions based on each guest's personal preferences.

Guests can also manage their plans through the "My Disney Experience" mobile app, where they will also be able to access the interactive calendar and purchase their tickets on the go.
