Visa Names Vasant Prabhu CFO

(RTTNews) - Credit card processor Visa Inc. (V) said Monday that it has appointed Vasant Prabhu as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective February 9.

Prabhu succeeds Byron Pollitt, who previously announced his intent to retire.

Prabhu joins Visa from NBCUniversal Media, LLC, where he served as chief financial officer, overseeing the company's finance function as well as the operations and technical services division, which includes its technical operations, physical plant, corporate services and information technology functions.

Prior to joining NBCUniversal in 2014, Prabhu served as the chief financial officer for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (HOT) since 2004. In 2010, Prabhu also was named vice chairman of Starwood. He also served as executive vice president and chief financial officer for Safeway Inc., and held senior leadership roles at The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc., PepsiCo, Inc. and Booz, Allen & Hamilton.
