Visa Inc. Q2 Income Climbs 5%

(RTTNews) - Visa Inc. (V) released earnings for its second quarter that advanced compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $1.63 billion, or $0.68 per share. This was higher than $1.55 billion, or $0.63 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.67 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 6.5% to $3.63 billion. This was up from $3.41 billion last year.
