UBS 33rd Annual Global Media Conference Begins Today; Features Presentations by 70 Major Media Companies
"The conference should prove to be a unique forum for keyparticipants in the Global Media sector to review fundamental trendsand to develop viewpoints for the sector as we approach 2006," saidAryeh Bourkoff, UBS cable, satellite & entertainment analyst and aconference co-host. "The timing of the conference is all the moreprescient as media consumption mutations are accelerating, compellingcompanies globally to reassess their positioning and business modelsin order to take advantage of a more dynamic consumer audience andevolving purchasing behavior," he said.
The four-day conference will kick off with its traditionalanalysis of the outlook for advertising in the coming year. As theweek progresses, the conference will focus on marketing services,entertainment, broadcasters, publishing, pay television, video gamesand the large, vertically-integrated media giants.

Since its inception in 1972 as a small meeting for New Yorkpublishing analysts, the UBS Media Week Conference has grown toencompass all aspects of media, entertainment and new media.Highlights from past conferences have included SKY TV's firstsynchronized satellite analyst presentation from Australia to NewYork; an analysis of the "electronic highway" in the early days of theinternet; and presentations by leading media entrepreneurs includingTed Turner, Jerry Yang, Steve Case and Barry Diller. Now in its 33rdyear, this year's conference is expected to host to 2,000 investors,presenters and reporters from around the world.
