U.S. Military Bestows High Civilian Honor Upon Four KBR Employees; KBR employees commended for providing heroic aid in response to a Baghdad terrorist attack

    HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2005--Four employees from KBR, the engineering and construction subsidiary of Halliburton (NYSE:HAL), were bestowed with the Commander's Award for Public Service during a private ceremony in Baghdad, Iraq, on Feb. 25. The service award is one of the highest civilian honors issued by the U.S. Department of the Army. It was awarded, in this case, to the four men for their quick response in providing aid to persons injured in a terrorist bombing in Baghdad last fall.

    The KBR employees who received this prestigious honor were:

--	Stephen Cook, Jr., 47, from Philadelphia, Pa., and a current resident of Fort Washington, Md.
--	Michael A. Gentile, 26, from Utica, N.Y., and a current resident of Fort Washington, Md.
--	Brian S. Hodge, 49, from Surrey, England, and a current resident of Nottinghamshire, England.
--	James McIver, 43, from Glasgow, Scotland, and current resident of Teesside, England.

    Charles M. Hess, director of operations for The Project and Contracting Office (PCO), which is part of the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, presented medals to each awardee and Air Force Maj. Joseph Mercurio read their citations aloud. Army Maj. Gen. Daniel Long attended the ceremony and personally signed the awards, which recognized the KBR employees for their heroism following the Oct. 14, 2004, terrorist attack. "The clear thinking, valor and devotion to duty exemplified by (these individuals) is keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit on (themselves) and the United States Army," the award reads.
    Bruce Stanski, senior vice president of KBR's Government and Infrastructure division, added his own praise to the commendation from the Army. "These employees' actions represent the best KBR has to offer," Stanski said. "Our employees work side by side with the military in Iraq and face the same dangers, and here we have four brave men who were willing to risk their own lives to save others. The entire KBR family salutes their courage and selfless actions."
    The four KBR employees support PCO's Logistics Movement Control Center (LMCC) in Baghdad, Iraq. LMCC provides oversight and emergency support for civilian convoys transporting supplies and equipment for various reconstruction projects throughout the country.
