U.S. Bancorp Repeats at "Most Powerful Women in Banking” Awards
U.S. Banker magazine, a SourceMedia publication, has once again recognized U.S. Bancorp in its selection of the Most Powerful Women in Banking. Four individuals were honored as "Most Powerful Women in Banking” or "Women to Watch,” and for the fourth year in a row, U.S. Bancorp’s team of 56 women leaders ranked first among the Top Banking Teams for 2009.
Pamela Joseph, vice chairman of payment services, ranked third and Diane Thormodsgard, vice chairman of wealth management and securities services, ranked ninth on the list of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking. Leslie Godridge, executive vice president of national corporate and institutional banking, ranked 12th and Lynn Heitman, senior vice president of retail payment solutions ranked 19th among the 25 Women to Watch.
"This has been an unprecedented year for all of us in the financial services industry, so I am extremely proud to see the hard work and leadership of all these women recognized by their peers,” said Richard Davis, chairman, president and chief executive officer of U.S. Bancorp. "Their positive attitudes and commitment to their customers, shareholders, colleagues, employees, communities and families through this economic downturn is a testament to the character and quality of leadership that will bring this economy back to its feet.”
The awards will be presented to representatives of U.S. Bancorp in New York City on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The company will celebrate its team recognition with a major event the next day in Minneapolis to benefit charities chosen by the team award winners.
