Timstar's MD was Pleased to be the First Recipient of the Mayors of Winsford Award, is he up for his Next Challenge…

On Friday 16^th August 2013, Timstars MD Simon Leggett was pleased to be the first recipient of the Mayors award from Winsford Mayor, Mike Kennedy.

Timstar, who provide school science equipment, recently moved to Winsford Industrial Estate as part of their continued expansion programme and were fortunate to have Mayor Mike Kennedy present them with the inaugural award to welcome them to the town.

Is Timstar's MD up for his next challenge?

After Simon had completed part of his continued expansion programme his next challenge is to complete 4 half marathons, in 4 countries, within 44 days. The half marathons are in Wales, England, India and the USA and he will start his marathons at the end of August, having just started his training just a couple of months ago. His biggest challenge will be running in the heat in both India and the USA.

Simon is running the 4 half marathons for two charities: Meifod school, a local school raising funds for school equipment; and Build Africa, a dynamic charity working in rural Uganda and Kenya to help young people escape poverty through education and income generation projects.

Simon was delighted to discover that he is being supported by companies Edu-Lab, Vickers, Bolle, Adam Equipment and Data Harvest, all reputable suppliers of laboratory equipment. They've all made large donations to this worthy cause and Timstar have raised £3,000 for the two charities. Timstar is a company belonging to the 'Wall Family Enterprise', a family-owned business consisting of a collection of companies serving customers worldwide who promote learning. All companies within the Wall Family Enterprise have committed to support Simon with this challenge and hope this is the start of many more charitable challenges for Timstar.
