Teradyne microFLEX Purchased by Carsem for Dependable Low-Cost Automotive Device Test
Teradyne, Inc. (NYSE: TER), a world leader in high efficiency, low-cost
test, announced that Carsem, a leading provider of packaging and test
services to the semiconductor industry, has purchased a Teradyne(R)
microFLEX(TM) test system to test battery management devices used in
automotive applications. In the competitive selection process, Teradyne
was chosen for delivering the highest quality and lowest cost of device
test. Equipped with powerful DC90 V/I instrumentation designed to meet
high current and high voltage test and quality requirements, the
microFLEX test system will be installed in Carsem’s
Ipoh, Malaysia facility.
"Carsem is committed to delivering the lowest
cost of test through multisite solutions for our customers,”
said Rick Flowers, vice president, worldwide sales and marketing,
Carsem. "It’s clear
that every aspect of the system architecture on Teradyne’s
FLEX(TM) platform was primarily designed for high-efficiency, multisite
test. We’re extremely pleased with the high
parallel device test capabilities of the microFLEX, and confident that
the accuracy and repeatability of the results yield a quality device
that is so critical in automotive applications.” "Quality and dependability are important for
any test application, but absolutely essential in automotive device test,”
said Regan Mills, general manager, Semiconductor Test Consumer Business
Unit, Teradyne. "We’re
pleased that Carsem selected microFLEX with DC90 to deliver that
quality. The DC90 is specifically targeted at meeting stringent
automotive device quality requirements while enabling high parallel
efficiency and lowering the cost of test.” About the DC90
DC90 brings both high voltage and high current capability together in an
instrument with unparalleled density to reduce cost of test for
automotive, power management, industrial/consumer motor controller and
power switch semiconductors. The DC90 is a four-channel floating V/I
source and measurement instrument. Each channel has an Arbitrary
Waveform Generator (AWG) for voltage and current output and its own
meter with capture memory. It is highly modular, with the ability to
provide current pulses of 10 A for a single channel and up to 40 A by
merging channels within an instrument board.
