Tech Data’s Toby McDuffie Named ‘One Of The Top Women Of The Channel’

Tech Data (NASDAQ: TECD) Director, Software Product Marketing Toby McDuffie has been named to Everything Channel’s CRN Magazine annual Women of the Channel list. CRN’s list of top female executives recognizes these women for "their accomplishments over the past year and the far-reaching impact they are having on the technology industry going forward.” The Women of the Channel list is published in this month’s issue of CRN.

McDuffie is a member of the senior management team leading Tech Data’s Software division. She and her team are responsible for developing and executing marketing initiatives in support of the division’s software vendor partners, including industry leaders like Adobe, CA, McAfee, Microsoft, Oracle, Symantec and Trend Micro. She also is responsible for Tech Data’s software supply chain improvement initiative, a multi-phase project that will fundamentally change how software licenses are managed and sold through the channel.

Phase One — an intuitive SKU selector supporting all Tech Data software vendors — will significantly surpass contemporary licensing tools in breadth and ease of use. In final development, this latest addition to Tech Data’s leading e-business tools will reduce software license purchase cycles. It also will remove other barriers and complexities of software licensing, walking resellers through the entire process to identify the right product and the most accurate pricing for each of their end-user customers.

McDuffie joined Tech Data in 1998. She has held several leadership roles at the company, including systems engineer manager and two marketing manager positions supporting imaging and printing, and software product lines. Prior to Tech Data, McDuffie worked 15 years with SunTrust Bank of Tampa Bay. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Eckerd College.

This is the fifth annual CRN Women of the Channel list. Tech Data has been represented on the list by women executives each year.
