Stifel Financial To Buy Merchant Capital For Undisclosed Terms

(RTTNews) - Stifel Financial Corp. (SF) Monday said, it will buy banking firm Merchant Capital, LLC, to further advance its position in the Southeast. The terms of the deal is not revealed. "The addition of Merchant Capital marks our third public finance acquisition following Stone & Youngberg in 2011 and De La Rosa in April of this year. As we look to build our public and corporate finance expertise nationwide, the Merchant team will further enhance our capabilities in the Southeast. This is a high quality team with a great reputation in the markets they serve," said Ronald Kruszewski, CEO of Stifel. Following the acquisition, Merchant Capital professionals will start working with and would be integrated into the Stifel team. The deal is expected to close next month.
