Steel Dynamics Announces 168% Increase In Q2 Bottom Line

(RTTNews) - Steel Dynamics (STLD) reported a profit for its second quarter that climbed compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line advanced to $141.97 million, or $0.58 per share. This was up from $53 million, or $0.22 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.56 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 0.5% to $2.02 billion. This was up from $2.01 billion last year.
