St. Paul Travelers Announces William Heyman Named Vice Chairman and Chief Investment Officer

    SAINT PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 5, 2005--St. Paul Travelers (NYSE:STA) today announced William H. Heyman, 57, has been promoted to the position of Vice Chairman and Chief Investment Officer. The appointment is effective immediately.
    "Bill Heyman is an accomplished investment executive, with an impressive career with several organizations," said Jay Fishman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "He has very capably overseen the combination and integration of the investment assets and platforms of our predecessor companies."
    Heyman joined the company in 2002, from Citigroup, where he had been Chairman of Citigroup Investments. He has responsibility for St. Paul Travelers' $65 billion of investments, including fixed income, equities, real estate and alternative investments.
    Prior to joining Citigroup, Heyman held positions as a Managing Director and head of the private investment department at Salomon Brothers; the Director of the Division of Market Regulation of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission; and a Managing Director and head of the arbitrage department of Smith Barney.
