Reports: Vivendi, Mediaset Nears Deal - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - As per media reports, Vivendi (VIV.L, VIVEF.PK) is nearing a deal with Mediaset (MDIEF.PK, MDIUY.PK), under which the companies will swap a 3.5 percent stake in the other. Vivendi is expected to acquire Mediaset Premium, the pay TV unit of Mediaset.

Vivendi is an integrated media and content group. The main subsidiaries of Vivendi comprise Canal+ Group and Universal Music Group. Canal+ is the leading pay-TV operator in France, and also serves markets in Africa, Poland and Vietnam. Canal+ operations include Studiocanal, a leading European player in production, sales and distribution of film and TV series.
