Red Hat Results Top Estimate - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Red Hat Inc (RHT) Thursday reported second-quarter net earnings of $47 million or $0.25 per share, compared with $41 million or $0.21 per share last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.41 per share, compared with $0.35 per share a year ago.

On average, 31 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.38 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues for the quarter were up 19 percent at $446 million compared with $374.4 million in the prior year. Twenty-eight analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $437 million for the quarter.

Red Hat stock closed Thursday at $60.66, down $0.42 or 0.69%, on a volume of 2 million shares on the NYSE. In after hours, the stock dropped $1.19 or 1.91%.
