President Vicente Fox Quesada Presents Mexico National Technology Award to Plantronics

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Plantronics, Inc. today announced that its Plantronics Mexico (PLAMEX) manufacturing plant won Mexico's National Technology award for Big Industrial Organizations. After receiving Mexico's National Quality award in 2004, PLAMEX is now the only organization ever to win both esteemed awards.

Presented to Plantronics yesterday by Mexico President Vicente Fox Quesada, Mexico's National Technology award honors companies that exemplify outstanding technology development and management, and continually develop new process innovations.

Following an extensive evaluation and site visit, PLAMEX was awarded Mexico's National Technology award after receiving high scores in each of the categories in which companies are judged: strategic knowledge and market and customer integration; product, process and service competitiveness; technology and strategic planning; legacy and technology capacity; and value created through technology management.

PLAMEX has now received seven prestigious awards for manufacturing and quality excellence in the last 12 months. Other awards received include the International Asia Pacific Quality Award, the 2005 Ibero American Quality Award and International Gold Crown.
