Pre-market Movers For July 9 (AA, TSLA, HTSI, KR, SIRI, WWW, WDFC, ISRG, IBM)
(RTTNews) - Gainers:
Alcoa Inc. (AA) is rising 1 percent to $8.00. The company's net loss widened from the year-ago quarter, due mainly to higher restructuring and other charges. Meanwhile, earnings per share, excluding special items, and sales topped Wall Street view. The company also reaffirmed its 2013 global aluminum demand growth forecast of 7 percent.
Tesla Motors, Inc. (TSLA) is rising 3 percent to $125.51 following the news that it will become a component of the NASDAQ-100 Index and the NASDAQ-100 Equal Weighted Index prior to market open on July 15, 2013. Tesla will replace Oracle Corp. (ORCL).
Harris Teeter Supermarkets Inc. (HTSI) is gaining 1 percent to $48.95. Kroger Co. (KR) has agreed to purchase all outstanding shares of the company for $49.38 per share in cash. KR is up 1 percent to $36.70.
SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. (SIRI) is up over 2 percent to $3.56. The company said it added 715,000 net new subscribers in the second quarter, bringing its total subscribers to more than 25 million. The company also raised its full-year guidance for total net subscriber additions to 1.5 million from its previous guidance of 1.4 million.
Wolverine World Wide Inc. (WWW) is up 5 percent to $58.32. The company's second quarter earnings declined from the year-ago quarter, while adjusted earnings per share were above Street view. Revenue rose 88 percent, but missed the consensus estimate. The company raised its full-year adjusted earnings per share guidance and reaffirmed its full-year revenue guidance.
WD-40 Co. (WDFC) is up more than 13 percent to $65.49 following the release of its quarterly results.
Decliners:
Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (ISRG) is falling 13 percent to $434.01 as the company forecast second quarter revenues below Wall Street view. The company said it is disappointed in its performance this quarter, particularly with respect to its capital sales in the U.S., overall procedure performance was solid in a difficult environment.
International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) is down over 1 percent to $192.17.
