Pennsylvania Capitol Police Traffic Stop Results in Arrest, Seizure of 2.5 Pounds of Marijuana, Cash and Drug Paraphernalia

HARRISBURG, Pa., Dec. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Capitol Police today announced Terrance K. Miller, Jr., 32 of Harrisburg has been arrested and charged in connection with a routine traffic stop in Harrisburg on Sunday, December 4, that resulted in the seizure of approximately 2.5 pounds of marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia.

During the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, Capitol Police Officers observed Miller commit a traffic violation at the intersection of 7th and Herr streets. Upon pulling the vehicle over, Miller was identified and it was determined he had three outstanding warrants for his arrest, as well as a suspended driver's license for a DUI.

As Miller exited the vehicle, police detected the odor of marijuana on him and emanating from the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle was searched and approximately 2.5 pounds of marijuana in three opened vacuum seal bags, a digital pocket scale, empty sandwich bags containing marijuana residue and $400 in cash were recovered. In addition, approximately eight ounces of the approximate 2.5 pounds of marijuana was bagged up into 10 smaller sandwich bags.

Miller is being charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance; Misdemeanor Possession of a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance, Misdemeanor possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Misdemeanor Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended License Due to A DUI; and Summary Failure to Obey Traffic Controls/Signals.

Miller was transported to the Dauphin County Prison and remains in custody on a probation violation while awaiting his preliminary hearing on these new charges.
