Own a Piece of Houston Heritage
HOUSTON, March 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Recognizing the need to recycle at all levels Historic Houston, a Texas 501 (c)(3) non-profit, began deconstructing historic homes slated for demolition to reclaim the building materials in order to divert this historic building material from entering the waste stream. The reclaimed building materials are then resold through Historic Houston's Salvage Warehouse which since its inception has become a leading resource for historic building materials that services an 11 county region of southeast Texas. Historic Houston is now offering an innovative way through MaxSold to participate in buying these reclaimed materials. MaxSold has roots in the auction industry since 1956, and evolved to offer online auctions, with thousands of online auctions since inception, provides the reach and convenience for people to bid on these unique goods.
"All proceeds from sales of reclaimed materials at the Salvage Warehouse help support the organization's mission "to preserve and conserve Houston's historic architectural and building resources" said Lynn Edmundson, Founder and Executive Director at Historic Houston.
The proceeds from this auction will help cover the ongoing operating expenses of the Salvage Warehouse; and allow the organization to continue their efforts to reclaim and reuse to reduce.
"We are happy to support such an amazing cause" said MaxSold's founder Barry Gordon, a second generation auctioneer, inducted into the National Auctioneers Hall of Fame. "We have become North America's largest and leading on-site online auction company through continuous innovation and unparalleled support to our downsizing and estate sale clients. We are happy to extend our hyper-local sale of goods service to excellent causes like this."
People interested can go to MaxSold.com/HistoricHouston to bid online now. Online auction starts to close on March the 15th. It's free to register and bid.
