Oracle Profit In Line With Estimates, Revenue Misses

(RTTNews) - Oracle Corp (ORCL) on Friday reported third-quarter net earnings of $2.50 billion compared with $2.57 billion last year. On a per share basis, earning were unchanged from a year ago at $0.56.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.68 per share.

The company's revenues for the quarter were marginally higher at $9.33 billion compared with $9.31 billion in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.68 per share on revenues of $9.46 billion for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Oracle said the strengthening of the U.S. dollar had a significant impact on results in the quarter. Adjusting for currency impact, Oralce's quarterly revenues rose 6%.

Oracle also announced a quarterly cash dividend of $0.15 per share, a 25% increase over the current quarterly dividend.
