Oracle Corp. Profit Drops 11% In Q3

(RTTNews) - Oracle Corp. (ORCL) revealed earnings for third quarter that fell compared to the same period last year.

The company said its profit fell to $2.73 billion, or $0.64 per share. This was lower than $3.07 billion, or $0.68 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.62 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 3.4% to $9.01 billion. This was down from $9.33 billion last year.
