Nidec Acquires Spanish Press Machine Manufacturer Arisa

(RTTNews) - Nidec Corp. (NJ), a manufacturer of electric motors and related components, Tuesday said it acquired a 100 percent ownership interest in Arisa, S.A., a press machine manufacturer based in Spain, from its founding families on August 24.

The transaction is intended to help one of the company's subsidiaries, Nidec-Shimpo Corp., to expand its technological and market reach in the global press machine market.

Arisa, founded in 1940, manufactures medium to extra-large, high-precision press machines. It had sales of 20.4 million euros in 2014, and expects 38.0 million euros in fiscal 2015.

The transaction is expected to have no significant impact on the company's consolidated financial performance for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016.
