New Honda Accord triumphs in Toyota Camry comparison

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Nov. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The North American market recently welcomed the2017 Honda Accord and 2017 Toyota Camry and O'Neill Honda is putting the two to the test in a new comparison. When side-by-side the 2017 Honda Accord is not only more powerful, but offers more interior space and premium high-tech features.

Both sedans were fully redesigned for the model year and enter the market with a variety of updates. Those updates include new features, restyling and engine options.

Under the hood the 2017 Honda Accord features either a 185-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder or a 278-hp 3.5-liter V-6 engine. The 2017 Toyota Camry is less powerful and has the option of either a 178-hp, 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a 268-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 engine. Thanks to its overall efficiency, the 2017 Honda Accord boasts up to 27 city and 36 highway mpg with the 2.4-liter engine paired to a CVT or up to 21 city and 33 highway mpg with the V-6.

In addition to great fuel efficiency and power, the 2017 Honda Accord trumps the 2017 Toyota Camry when it comes to safety ratings. Both sedans earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick+ award, but the 2017 Honda Accord also earned the Institute's highest front crash prevention rating of "Superior," unlike the 2017 Toyota Camry.
