Mechel OAO Names Oleg Korzhov CEO - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Russia-based mining and steel group Mechel OAO (MTL) announced the appointment of its Senior Vice-President for Economics and Management Oleg Korzhov as Mechel OAO's Chief Executive Officer. This was approved by the company's board and is valid starting on January 1, 2014. Evgeny Mikhel, who occupied this position since 2010, left the firm by his own wish.

Earlier to his appointment, Oleg Korzhov is Senior Vice President for Economics and Management of Mechel OAO since October 2011. From April 2009 to October 2011 he was Mechel OAO's Vice President in charge of business planning and analysis.
