Major Networks Select CustomFlix for DVD Distribution on Amazon.com; Programming from NBC Universal, A&E Home Video and PBS Now Available

CustomFlix Labs, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary ofleading online retailer Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN), todayannounced it has agreements with major television and cable networks,NBC Universal, A&E Home Video, and the PBS (Public BroadcastingService), to distribute popular broadcast content via DVD on Demand onthe Amazon.com website. These agreements will make thousands ofpreviously unavailable DVDs accessible to millions of Amazoncustomers.

"The CustomFlix DVD on Demand service works perfectly for themassive amount of content that network and cable channels have yet tomake available on DVD and other digital formats," said DanaLoPiccolo-Giles, co-founder and Managing Director of CustomFlix. "Ourservice enables content providers to quickly and economicallydistribute previously unavailable programming to millions ofAmazon.com customers. Because we produce discs only when customersorder, our providers are not subject to the expense or risk associatedwith traditional distribution methods."

CustomFlix is working with NBC Universal to encode and distributecontent from the network's library of popular programming. Thisincludes a wide variety of titles such as the "Westminster Kennel ClubDog Show" and a compilation of popular "Where in the World is MattLauer?" segments from the "Today" show. More NBC titles are beingadded on an ongoing basis, with many DVDs being pre-sold during theinitial airing of the broadcast.

A&E Home Video, the home entertainment distribution arm of A&ETelevision Networks, is currently selling more than 1,000 titles toAmazon.com customers through the CustomFlix DVD on Demand program.Selected content from the A&E(R) Network, The History Channel(R) andThe Biography Channel(R) is now available, including programs such as"Modern Marvels," "Investigative Reports" and the award-winning"Biography(R)" series. The breadth of the A&E Home Video catalog is anatural fit with Amazon.com's mission of providing the Earth's BiggestSelection. Amazon.com customers are able to effectively navigate thiswide selection of titles through Amazon's discovery features, such assearch, browse, and personalized recommendations.

PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) and producers of PBS content,including WGBH Boston Video, have selected CustomFlix for thedistribution vehicle for a variety of programs including "AmericanExperience", "Antiques Roadshow", "Frontline" and "Nova". These andmany other public television shows are expected to be available soonfor sale as DVDs on Amazon.com.
