ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 16, 2005--Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:EK) today appointed Kevin J. Hobert as president of the company's Health Group and Senior Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company, effective immediately. He will report to Antonio M. Perez, Kodak's President and Chief Operating Officer.
Hobert, 40, General Manager, Digital Capture Systems and Vice President of Kodak's Health Group, replaces Daniel Kerpelman, 46, who is leaving the company to become Chief Executive Officer of a leading publicly traded global services company headquartered in Europe.
"Under Dan's leadership, Kodak's Health Group has become a strong pillar of our digital growth strategy. We wish Dan well," said Perez. "I am delighted that we have a person of Kevin's caliber to continue the great work that has been done to date by the Health Group team. Kevin has proven himself to be a results-oriented leader. He has driven significant process and product improvements that delivered revenue growth and improved margins. Under his leadership, our computed radiography business has achieved the number two position worldwide and we have recently secured FDA approval for our innovative mammography computer-aided detection device. I have every confidence that Kevin will take our Health Group to the next level, including further penetration of the growing market for healthcare information systems for practice and workflow management."
Hobert joined Kodak in 2002 from General Electric Medical Systems (GEMS), a division of General Electric Co., with 11 years experience in the medical imaging market. At GE he was responsible for leading GEMS' global business comprised of digital, analog and mobile radiography market segments and remote, classical and multipurpose fluoroscopy market segments. Hobert holds a B.S. in physics from the University of Wisconsin.
"The Health Group team has spent the past two years working to build the strongest product portfolio in the marketplace," said Hobert. "Last fall, we began to move our outstanding portfolio beyond radiology into attractive market areas in healthcare systems and specialty markets. I'm thrilled with the opportunity to lead this talented team in implementing this plan and driving the next phase of our growth strategy."
