Jefferies Group Sees Q3 Profit Of $82 Mln

(RTTNews) - Investment banking firm Jefferies Group LLC, a part of diversified holding company Leucadia National Corp (LUK), said Tuesday it expects to report third-quarter net earnings of $82 million and revenue of $835 million.

Results for the quarter mainly reflect investment banking revenue of $461 million, the company said.

Investment banking results reflect solid contributions from equity and debt capital markets, strong performance in merger and acquisition advisory business, and solid participation across industry groups and geographies, the company said.

Further, sales and trading business were also solid for the quarter and are estimated at $370 million.

Jefferies said the preliminary results were released due to the Leucadia investor meet on Sept. 3, and that final results are expected on Sept. 16.
