International Paper Announces Retreat In Q3 Profit

(RTTNews) - International Paper (IP) reported a profit for third quarter that decreased from the same period last year

The company's earnings totaled $165 million, or $0.47 per share. This compares with $951 million, or $2.64 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Excluding items, International Paper reported adjusted earnings of $224 million or $0.64 per share for the period.

The company's revenue for the quarter fell 14.6% to $4.61 billion from $5.40 billion last year.
