How To Customize Your Verizon Channels

(RTTNews) - Verizon Communications' FiOS TV service has modified its programming bundles and will now offer new packages so that users can subscribe only for channels they prefer to watch.

From Monday, users can sign up for a core package of networks including ABC and Fox, and as well as CNN, AMC, Food Network, among others.

FiOS' starting plan will cost $55 a month and will include two channel packs. Additional packages, consisting of up to 17 channels, will cost $10 a month.

Users also can opt for channel packs spread over genres like sports, kids, pop culture and lifestyle.

The move comes as Verizon and other such companies grapple with competition from Netlix and Hulu, and try to attract customers by offering choices so that users do not end up paying for channels they do not want.

The FiOS new plan means channels like ESPN will be part of the sports pack, Viacom Inc's Nickelodeon in the kids pack, and Time Warner Inc's TNT in the entertainment pack.

Verizon also has different pricing plans for customers who blend phone and Internet with the new FiOS TV package. The base package starts at $75 a month. A customer can get the base package, along with channel packs and 50 megabits per second broadband speeds.
