Honeywell Wins Contract to Standardize Technology at 25 Shell Refineries and Chemical Plants Worldwide; Software Will Help Maximize Performance and Reliability

Honeywell (NYSE:HON) announced today it has receivedcontracts to provide software and services to help maximize theperformance, safety and reliability of Shell Downstream's refinery andchemicals sites around the world. This contract covers 15 refineriesin Europe and Asia and 10 Chemical plants worldwide. The work supportsa global Shell program aimed at improving their asset management andensuring safe production.

"This solution has already been deployed at 7 locations in theUnited States with demonstrated benefits to our refineries," said LynnElsenhans, executive vice president Shell Global Manufacturing."Honeywell can support all of our facilities, including those thatcurrently use non-Honeywell systems, so it makes implementing thisprogram worldwide much easier."

Shell will use Honeywell's Operations Management Pro (OM Pro)suite of software at its refineries and chemical plants. The softwareprovides an operations environment that integrates multiple tools toimprove refinery processes and optimize production to achieve economictargets. OM Pro offers operators greater visibility into plantoperations, from console operations to reliability engineering toplanning and scheduling functions. At the same time, it helps ensurethat operations are within prescribed limits for safeguardingequipment and complying with safety, health, and environmentalstandards.
