Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. Announces 13% Gain In Q3 Profit

(RTTNews) - Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. (HIG) revealed a profit for its third quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $413 million, or $1.06 per share. This was higher than $364 million, or $0.86 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.95 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 3.1% to $4.70 billion. This was up from $4.56 billion last year.
