GM Recalls About 524,400 Vehicles
(RTTNews) - General Motors Corp (GM)'s recall problem continues to haunt the company. The automaker on Friday announced two new recalls totaling about 524,400 vehicles in North America.
GM is recalling 430,550 Cadillac SRX and Saab 9-4X SUVs, and 89,294 Chevrolet Sparks.
The Cadillac SRX and Saab 9-4X SUVs vehicles being recalled may have loose joint and worn threads in the rear toe link assembly that may cause vehicle to move at highway speed and if it separates, increasing the risk of a crash.
As for the Chevrolet Sparks, concerns relate to corrosion that can cause the secondary hood latch striker to stick in the open position.
This is the third recall since Wednesday, when the company tried to assuage investors by outlining its strategic plan. In total, the three recalls cover about 642,650 vehicles.
GM also stopped deliveries and told dealers not to sell its 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon midsized pickups due to an air bag problem.
This year, GM has announced multiple recalls covering 29.95 million vehicles in North America for a range of problems, including a flaw related to ignition switch.
