GM Recalls 500 Pickup Trucks, SUVs For Air Bag Controls: Reports

(RTTNews) - Detroit-based automaker General Motors (GM) is said to recall nearly 500 full-size pickup trucks and sport-utility vehicles or SUVs, including Silverado and Sierra models, to fix faulty air bag controls, according to several media reports. This is GM's 30th separate recall so far this year.

Reports added that the affected vehicles are from the 2014 and 2015 model years, and the vehicles are still at dealerships and won't be sold until repairs are made.

The firm is in the middle of a company-wide safety review, following its mishandling of the recall of over 2.6 million older small cars with faulty ignition switches. In 2014, GM has recalled around 13.8 million U.S. vehicles.
