GE Insurance Solutions Names Torben Thomsen to Lead its Continental Europe Life & Health Business

GE Insurance Solutions today announced the appointmentof Torben Thomsen to lead its newly established Continental EuropeLife & Health division.

Thomsen has been with GE Insurance Solutions for 17 years. Hestarted his career with Nordisk Re as an Actuary in 1988 and has helda number of key roles in GE Insurance Solutions including leader ofthe Life department of the Copenhagen office and Executive for Salesand Pricing in the London office. Most recently Thomsen has led thecompany's Life & Health division in South, West and Northern Europe.

"Torben brings a high level of actuarial insight and credibilityto this important role," said Alberto Izaga, President of EuropeanLife & Health at GE Insurance Solutions. "Continental Europe is agrowing and dynamic market, and under Torben's leadership we aim todeliver practical risk expertise on a foundation of unparalleledcustomer service."

Thomsen holds a degree in Mathematics and Economics from theUniversity of Aarhus and a degree in Actuarial Science from theUniversity of Copenhagen.

The Continental Europe Life and Health division is formed by thejoining of several existing business units, and includes the company'sLife & Health offices in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Madrid, Milan,Athens and Tel Aviv. The company writes reinsurance products in thesemarkets for mortality, disability, critical illness, long term careand medical expenses.

Wolf-Rudiger Heilmann, who was formerly leading the Life & Healthdivision in Central & Eastern Europe, has left GE to pursue otheropportunities.
